I have heard music by The Atlantics for years, although mostly cover versions, but what got me interested in their music was a cover of SOS (Stomp on Stomp) that I heard some time ago. I got a CD of re-recordings of their earliest stuff, which I rather like, but also stumbled across this compilation, which is the real deal, from the early 60's. The Atlantics were doing the surf thing, but it was a lot different in many ways from the music coming out of the US, and in some ways leaned more toward the music of The Shadows & The Tornados. "Bombora" is probably their most famous (and most covered) song, although they have some fantastic songs that were far ahead of their time and so different from American surf stuff that they could have almost been some other genre. Theo Penglis apparently had some kind of thing for Gremlins, as two Gremlin-themed tracks appear here, both of which are quite interesting. My favorites are "Glassy Walls", "Shark Attack", and "SOS (Stomp On Stomp)". A fantastic band, and they're still around in some incarnation to this day. A highly recommended collection if you can get your mitts on it.
