Dj Homes here Just to update. Myself and dj Martin AKA Martin Williams (3rd original member of LFO) Did this remix (Remake) for Outer Rythm Records. Using the original samples from the original we felt we need to add a different flavour, to the original track. At the time we were producing tracks for Bassic Records Leeds. We also co produced some classic tracks like Ital Anthem by Ital Rockers (AKA Iration Steppas AKA Mark Iration) Soul Thunder by Juno and Pressure by Ability 2

it has taken me years to find this track after first hearing grooverider play it back in 91 at the start of the eclipse # 5 mixtape...originally thought it was a future sound of london track and it certainly has the same soundscape feel to it, but with more of a jacky warehouse sound and it blew me away when i first heard it. the kind of track you could play now and people would think it was made a 2 years back, not 22....i read somewhere that one of the guys was involved with LFO and you can definately hear a certain early 'warpness' to the sound in the drum programming and experimental ambient touches, think blaze 'lets get jazzy' mixed into Papua New Guinea and being played at a zoo and you won't be far off.....

The A-side remixes of "Animal", "Remade in Leeds" by the mysterious DJ Homes and DJ Martin really are the business - spooky , bassy and well produced with an authentic sound, and one could be forgiven for assuming that it is remixed under a pseudonym. I must confess a soft spot for Man Machine and Ed Stratton in general, but there always was something slightly cheesy and "plastic" about the sound of his productions. Rob Gordon's classic transformations of the eponymous debut brought this stuff to my attention, and this remix of "Animal" does a reasonable job of repeating the trick. Worth tracking down if obscure 90s UK techno is your thing, and dirt cheap too!

Homer Harriott AKA Dj Homes here, I thought I would drop an update and to clarify a few facts. Firstly that dj Martin was one of the three original members of LFO and the original track was created and mastered at Martin's house in his small studio in the attic. I was there many nights & many months watching them at work up there. They only had a Casio Fz10 sampler Kawai K1 keyboard atari 1040st and a speak n spell. When warp records 9then just 2 guys with big ideas) who offered the group a deal loan of a dat machine for mastering LFO onto.Soon after and very unexpectedly & for no apparent reason Martin was ejected from the group and the original tracks they made as a group were never used on the 1st Album only LFO was released. Myself and Martin teamed up to run a studio & produce tracks for Bassic Records (set up on the top floor of Crash Records in Leeds by by the then partners & owners Steve & Jerry) after Jerry left in the business Steve Mulhaire carried on in the music industry managing LSK (aka Lee Kenny) & his sister Rhianna Kenny plus many other artists. Myself and Dj Martin remixed this track in my studio in Leeds for Outer Rhythm Music we were only sent the samples of the animal sounds some effects and we just worked with those sounds to produce/remix this track. We also produced, played instruments on and recorded Ital Anthem by Ital Rockers (I myself was once a dj & producer as part of Ital Rockers aka Iration steppas & I was also producing original tracks, dub plates and remixes for Mark Iration. After the club success of Ital Anthem & chart success no. 41 Martin & I went on to co- write co-produce and mix Soul Thunder by Juno (One of the members was Irations' brother) and after that we co-produced recorded & mixed Pressure by Ability 2. All these tracks were club bangers. These along side tracks from Lfo Nightmares on Wax and Uniqe 3 and were some of the early foundations of UK Techno scene. Martin and I had made some killer tracks which were awaiting release (one with Ed Mahoo the super smooth singer on Soul Thunder) Unfortunately we never managed to get them released. So for now they are archived. Homer Harriott aka Dj Homes
